In a stroke of last minute luck I scored a ticket to the Midnight Madness screening of Seven Psychopaths. This TIFF programme has some of the best audiences! They’re all fans who fully get engaged in the film and react with gusto. Seven Psychopaths was no exception. Ryerson Theatre erupted with cheers when writer/director Martin McDonagh came out on stage alongside his cast members: Colin Farrell, Sam Rockwell, Christopher Walken, Woody Harrelson, Abbie Cornish, and Bond babe Olga Kurylenko.
The film was wonderfully woven and good bloody fun. A great script that had a great cast to convert it to the screen…it was just great! Though it was absurd and deranged, there were also lots of little moments that gave it a naturalness and flow. And Walken, man, almost everything he said sounded so cool and quotable. One I want to see again for sure.
