What to do in Toronto August 29 – September 4

Monday the 29th: Head on to the Ex!

Tuesday the 30th: I’ve hear of various forms of battles before, but this is the first Art Battle I’ve come across and it sounds great. Witness live competitive painting at The Great Hall starting at 7:30pm.

Wednesday the 31st: Return to your childhood as the Julie Andrews Disney classic Mary Poppins screens as part of the TIFF in the Park run at David Pecaut Square. After the screening head over to The Drake to catch the vocal stylings of pop star Mark Munroe  at 10:30 pm.

Thursday the 1st: The last chapter of this season’s Open Roof Festival is the documentary Eco-Pirate with musical guests The Junction at Amsterdam Brewery.

Friday the 2nd: Hip Hop Kareoke sounds like a ton of fun (Salt-n-Pepa’s “Shoop” is my go to kareoke song anyway) and it’s going down at Yonge-Dundas Square at 8pm.

Saturday the 3rd: The Hot and Spicy Food Festival is on at Harbourfront. Head down then chow down.

Sunday the 4th: Taste for Justice is brunch taking place on Ward’s Island to raise funds for women’s human rights.
