Tuesday, July 5: Video Game Armageddon
This week is the Sega Genesis edition, allowing you to go back in time and age and replay games of decades gone by. Takes place from 6-10pm at Toronto Underground Cinema.
*if you’re in Cape Town, check out the Short & Sweet film festival at The Dream Factory. Doors open at 6 and the screening begins at 7:30pm. There will be short films from around the world, including Canada’s Black Cadillacs, and Highland Park single malt scotch whisky.
Wednesday, July 6: Off to see the Wizard
The Wizard of Oz will be projected @ David Pecaut Square as part of the TIFF outdoor summer musical series. Screening starts at sunset (around 9pm).
Thursday, July 7: Open Roof Festival
In the parking lot of Amsterdam brewery a stage will be set, a screen raised, chairs seated, beer poured, and poutine and popcorn doled out. This week’s entertainment is the film Trigger and a musical performance by Betty Burke. Doors open at 7:30, band goes on at 8, movie at 9pm.
Friday, July 8: Summerliciousness
The Summerlicious food-stravaganza begins today and runs til July 24th.
Saturday, July 9: The Very Very Best of Broadway
Marvin Hamlisch, Audra McDonald, Brian Stokes Mitchell, Martin Short, Jane Krakowski, and Raul Esparza will be in the Black Creek house to belt out Broadway numbers.
Sunday, July 10: Fringe
The Toronto Fringe Festival will be in full affect by Sunday, so why not take in a show, or two, or…Some suggestions include Rabbit Hole (recently a film starring Nicole Kidman), and Swoon!
